Once upon a time, long – ever so long- ago, Afghanistan was a hub of the silk roads where ideas, goods, gold, and many worthy things crossed palms and paths. Now? It is a mass of war lords and war profiteers with American troops caught in the middle while our very own belligerent warlord KEEPS them there to prove he doesn’t have tiny hands.
I am angry with every walk on the Walk of the Fallen these days. I will be angry tonight, too. Three Americans dead – shot by an Afghan soldier and a fourth American is in a hospital, likely fighting for his life.
The three died June 10, of gunshot wounds sustained in Peka Valley, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. The incident is under investigation.
The Soldiers were assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Company D, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, KY.
