Anyone who has been in the military will tell you that if you go on sick call and complain about something, about 8 times out of 10 you will walk out with a bottle of pills. Even if you say things like, “Hey, I hit my head — shouldn’t I have an x-ray?” they will pass you pain killers and tell you to get more tests only if pills don’t work.
So I am pretty sure the “Daily Sheeple” is onto something in the claim that passing out pills for depression is a huge contributor to the continual trend in military suicides. More soldiers are dying by suicide than by ISIS or other enemies. Your tax dollars at work, folks.
After all, funerals are cheap for them – they don’t really cover the whole price most of the time. And even if they do? It is less than solving the actual mental health problem. Heroes are best dead and buried? And much less trouble than living men and women.
