The morning sky is as dark as it was during the partial solar eclipse.  Rain drummed on the roof most of the night.  My favorite technology today is an electric clothes dryer!

And proof that I need a weekend is always plentiful:

(1)The bullshit that too often dares call itself Constitutionally protected: not for nothing do numerologists view the number TWO with suspicion! (BTW, a typo in tagging begs the question, why are the anti-gun control nuts also so frequently in favor of FUN control?)

(2) Thank Skippy for the link to prove that fewer than two dozen people could pay the food stamp program all by themselves.  See, Reagan had it a bit right — if THESE folks wanted to be those “points of light” the government could be OFF the charity hook?  Compassionate conservatives, anyone?

1suck it up(3) Pity the poor 1% who can’t suck it up even for a few bags of candy?

(4) Fear-flogging for all NONE in Canada.  And yay for them telling Fox to stuff it.

(5) The war on women continues in rhetoric. In other words, women die, are raped, are abused, and are insulted, and men talk about it in terms of how hard it is for THEM.  But of course, right?  It is ALL about hard things.

Herland

The name of this blog, and my Dreamwidth blog, Herlander Refugee, is taken from a 1915 feminist novel "Herland". It makes my heart sing that modern women are experimenting with creation of a new "Herland"!
