photoMore detail will be is up later at the other blog here and here about completion of the last six weeks of kitchen project.  But it is DONE!  The floor is still sawdust covered….but it is done!  We will now be cleaning the entire dusty house for the next 48 hours!  week.

    Beautiful. That’s just beautiful. Lots of space, gorgeous butcher block. Brilliant to lower the countertop for breadmaking. I’ll have to share that with my daughter since she and her fiance are renovating the house he bought. That kitchen will be a pleasure to work in with such beauty around you. .

    • Yes, I have waited SO long for those blissful countertops of butcher block! The small one ‘twixt fridge and stove? You will notice it is SHORTER — to be at perfect height for kneading bread and rolling out dough or cookies or pie crusts without any need to stand on phone books!

      And we separated out the lights to two switches, too. So I can have the over the sink lights on w/o the hot center halogens!

The name of this blog, and my Dreamwidth blog, Herlander Refugee, is taken from a 1915 feminist novel "Herland". It makes my heart sing that modern women are experimenting with creation of a new "Herland"!
