A Pre-Halloween Treat

A small confession: I grew up watching Disney films, as did my children. And I usually sympathized with the Disney villains, especially the female “baddies” because they were some good rebellious out-of-lock-step bitches! Ursula had a more delicious voice than that schlocky mermaid! And Malificent is my personal favorite in the “Don’t fuck with me!” department of party etiquette.
So, yes, I utterly adore the “Chicago” treatment above! Hope you will get some giggles, too!

The problem with Disney movies is that they feature heroines who, at the end of their adventures, settle for lives of boring, conventional domesticity. You’re right, the villains are almost always more interesting.

Herland

The name of this blog, and my Dreamwidth blog, Herlander Refugee, is taken from a 1915 feminist novel "Herland". It makes my heart sing that modern women are experimenting with creation of a new "Herland"! Yes, comments are closed. Anyone who just MUST reach me can do so at syrbal6 at gmail dot com.
