skull-tollingWhile the USDA says it is on top of the salmonella outbreak I made klaxon sounds about yesterday, it is uncertain whether anyone other than state agencies are atop a tuberculosis outbreak in Las Vegas. CDC WAS investigating….but since the shut-down, who knows?

A young woman came into the hospital and birthed two extremely premature infants; she was not well, and her infants were struggling from the start. All three are now dead…killed by an old killer, tuberculosis.

The doctor’s excuse of TB being a rare disease in America doesn’t much convince me, to be honest. TB has been on the uptick for a couple decades now….it first began going again during the initial AIDS outbreak, since damaged immune systems were more susceptible. And then a round of antibiotic resistant TB made the news; so if the docs in Nevada think it is “rare” in America? They haven’t been paying attention.

Herland

The name of this blog, and my Dreamwidth blog, Herlander Refugee, is taken from a 1915 feminist novel "Herland". It makes my heart sing that modern women are experimenting with creation of a new "Herland"! Yes, comments are closed. Anyone who just MUST reach me can do so at syrbal6 at gmail dot com.
