Wednesday Woozle – The Mobile Unit

photo copy This is the former Farley Fatpants! Note, he has lost about a pound of his body weight, all in one fell swoop in last week’s surgery to remove his huge spleen. Pathology found no cancer or abnormality; we don’t know why his spleen got huge enough to be forcing most of his other organs into his rib cage, but that is a thing of the past.

He is sitting on a big chair which he could never achieve before! He scrambled up the footstool and jumped the nine inches to the chair today. He is really feeling his oats, he is off pain meds and anti-biotics and his appetite is improving. I imagine he will soon find dozens of ways to test my ferret-proofing!

Oh, yeah. Farley is back and better than before! *chuckle* Will there be anymore testing to figure out what caused the enlarged spleen? Or just being thankful it wasn’t cancerous?

Bet he gives you a run for the money – as well as the other woozles. Have fun!

They pretty much tested everything they could and could find no cause. So, we just go forward now and hope for years of health and comfort for him.

Maybe he just liked the nickname?

Since Farley is deaf, I don’t think he had an opinion about the name! He gets his stitches out on Saturday…his poor skin was so stretched and fragile they couldn’t use the ‘dissolvable’ kind on him. All the thin red patches away from the incision are healed now, where his skin was breaking down from pressure.

      • Brina says:

He didn’t hear it, but he could feel it, man.

Sorry to hear about his little stitched belly. Tell him there’ll be a cool scar…er…or maybe use flash cards? 😉

Too likely, he is being He-Man Woozle now! He does seem to feel worlds better.
