Another Day, Another Rape Case

Tarot_001in India, that is. The world has a rape culture, it seems. Got frustration in your male life? Find me a country where raping a woman doesn’t sound like a good idea to some asshole as a relief or solution. I want to live to see a world where rape victims are not told they should have “begged for mercy” from their rapists — I want to see a world where rapists beg for mercy with similar unsympathetic results!

So, yeah, imagine, a woman daring to be a journalist….wtf WAS she thinking, she is obviously meant to be a party toy. Yeah, my vote is some genetic engineering for teeth in vaginas! Maybe India needs some female Thugees back…Hail, Kali, ya’ll!

Sadly, India is about 30 years behind the US with regards to women’s rights. yes, yes, I know they had a lady PM, but women are still treated like chattel rather than people. Praise thee to all of the shit they’ve invented and tech crap …blah blah blah … but that doesn’t make up for the fact that the men there can rape at will. And you thought Latin machismo was bad … Indian machismo is worse!

The name of this blog, and my Dreamwidth blog, Herlander Refugee, is taken from a 1915 feminist novel "Herland". It makes my heart sing that modern women are experimenting with creation of a new "Herland"! Yes, comments are closed. Anyone who just MUST reach me can do so at syrbal6 at gmail dot com.
